I've already got 250 just in case :P

Although the maximum you get from quests is 125, which is half of 250

There's another 25 tokens from the Elonian quest

Saying that, the Candy Cane Shard blunder springs to mind...

Gailes cleared it up though, but I'm just worried incase it's some amazing new kind of gift that you get for the pig feast...

The event starts tmro, 8 am Gmt through to 8pm.

What will happen? Every so many hours hats are given ? Or will they be given during the 8-8 perior?

Every three hours the Celestial Pig appears and gives out the hats

Another thing springs to mind, we need to gifts to "win" in a district so we all get the gifts.

Remember the battles with the void things in town during the Dragon Festival?

yes Sarevok.......those presents were popping everywhere, but first we had to move around those things (forget their name) before the grasps got them.

This worries me though: if the presents are for everyone, but a few of us are doing the heavy lifting (as in farming these stupid ingredients), that's totally unfair.

I'd like to see this explained.

I'm starting to think the items will drop during the appearance of the pig and we have to rush to get them to the chefs before nians take them...either that or we have to use fireworks to scare them off whilst the chefs prepare the feast.

with last year's dragon festival, things were kept cryptic, but we just showed up and figured it out and went from there. With these collectors, it requires a tremendous amount of prep work, and if this turns out to be a waste of time, or if the rewards get shared with everyone, I'm going to have an embolism

What "blunder" do you speak of? I honestly don't recall one. If you mean that the candy cane shards were used for both masks and obtaining other items, you're correct in that aspect but that's about it. It wasn't a "blunder" and there was little confusion because it was clarified that you should hold on to your shards until the finale.

And that's exactly what I said. If they were to be used for both obtaining fun items and masks, Anet would have specified to hold on to them. Just as they did with Wintersday.

You didn't need candy cane shards to get a mask in either wintersday event. The last event you merely needed them to gain favor for the district. To recieve a mask, you merely needed to be present. The only events so far that have required you to have items for a mask have been the Day of the Tengu and the Dragon Festival, but the items needed in those events for masks had no other use.

Need? No. But it helped, so you didn't have to rely on other people which wasn't really a problem anyway.

I'm going to be very disappointed if there won't be a significant reward for this. I just had to collect all of it, because I'd be even more disappointed if it turns out there is a nice reward and I'm not going to get it.

Or you could do what I'm planning and buy the ingredients if that happens.
Because I really don't have the time to go across the continent(s) getting hard-to-get items
